17 / 32

Taking the set of natural numbers as the universal set, write down the complements of the following sets:

(vii) {x : x is a perfect cube}

Answer

1
Find the complement of the given set by finding the elements of the universal set of numbers that are not elements of the given set.
Answer: {x : x $∈$ N, x is not a perfect cube}
Reason: Natural numbers can be classified as either perfect cubes{math_tip:def_perfect_cube} or non-perfect cubes. Therefore, after removing the perfect cubes, only numbers that are not perfect cubes remain.
